Land for Wildlife (LFW)

LFW is for landholders committed to conserving native wildlife and habitats on larger properties. As a member, you’ll receive:

1. Personalised Property Report

  • After your property assessment, you’ll receive a detailed report highlighting the native plants and animals on your land, along with recommendations to enhance and protect your property’s biodiversity.

2. Membership Signage

  • Display your official Land for Wildlife sign to celebrate your commitment and inspire others in your community to protect wildlife.

3. Ongoing Support and Resources

  • Access a range of fact sheets, guides, and expert advice to support sustainable land management. LFW staff are available to assist you with property-specific questions or challenges.

4. Community Connection

Connect with a network of like-minded landholders through workshops, events, and collaborative conservation activities.

5. Recognition of Your Contribution

By becoming a member, your property becomes part of a larger effort to protect biodiversity, creating vital wildlife corridors and refuges across Central Australia.

Garden for Wildlife (GFW)

GFW is designed for smaller property owners who want to support native wildlife in urban areas. As a member, you’ll receive:

1. A Property Visit from an experienced team member who will:

  • Deliver your membership package
  • Tour your garden, discuss your plans, and provide tailored advice to suit your specific needs
  • Consult with a team of ecologists back at the Low Ecological Services office to recommend the best techniques for enhancing your garden’s biodiversity

2. A Membership Package including:

  • A Garden for Wildlife sign to proudly display on your front fence, acknowledging your commitment to supporting local biodiversity
  • Practical resources, including maps and native plant lists tailored to your property
  • Expert tips on creating a wildlife-friendly garden, attracting pollinators, and providing food, water, and shelter for birds, insects, and other local wildlife

3. Community Engagement

  • Connect with a growing network of like-minded wildlife gardeners. Participate in garden tours, workshops, and events to share ideas and inspiration.

4. Contribution to Urban Conservation

  • Transform your garden into a wildlife-friendly space and play a vital role in creating habitat-rich corridors for native species in urban areas.

Whether you join Land for Wildlife or Garden for Wildlife, you’ll be contributing to a larger movement of community-driven conservation in Central Australia. Together, we can protect and celebrate the region’s incredible biodiversity.

To become a Land or Garden for Wildlife member in Central Australia you must own land in the Central Desert region.

Joining Land for Wildlife (LFW) or Garden for Wildlife (GFW) in Central Australia is taking a step towards conserving the unique arid zone biodiversity. Find out below what you can expect as a member.

Step 01

Fill out the form below. You can email us directly via our ‘Contact Us‘ page if you have a general enquiry.

Step 02

Once we receive your form, a staff member will get in touch to arrange:

  • A property assessment visit for Land for Wildlife (LFW) applicants, or
  • A property visit and membership package drop-off for Garden for Wildlife (GFW) applicants. Congratulations, you are now a new GFW member!
Step 03

After your LFW property assessment, our staff will prepare a report to determine your membership eligibility. If approved, we will schedule a date to receive your report and LFW membership signage. Congratulations, you are now part of the LFW program!
