Get hands-on experience in ecological fieldwork and improve your survey skills as we explore various species, including reptiles, insects, small mammals, microbats, birds, and vegetation.
Learn techniques such as: pitfall traps, Elliot traps, camera traps, sound recording and site observations.
Why is this important?
We’re conducting an annual comprehensive biodiversity survey to gather ecological information for effective sanctuary land management. If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about our local ecosystems or gain experience in the environmental industry then this event is for you!
Event Details:
Location: Pitchi Richi Heritage Sanctuary. You can find the Google Maps location here.
Duration: 4 days (3 days with morning and evening sessions, plus two half-days for setup and packdown- join for all or some!)
Dates: Wednesday- Saturday, April 30th- May 3rd, 2025
Who Can Attend: This event is free and open to all! Participants can choose to attend one or all of the sessions. Children are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
